KP Governor vows to make Gomal Zam project beneficial
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Sardar Mahtab Ahmad Khan has said that keeping in view the vast impact of the Gomal Zam Project in improving socio-economic uplift of the people of the area, every possible step will be taken to make it fully beneficial for the respective people and materialise all the subsidiary schemes envisaged in its original planning.
Talking during a briefing on the pace of progress on construction of water distribution canals and channels under the project at Governor House on Tuesday, the Governor asked the concerned authorities to take up the issue of provision of remaining funds through the relevant quarters.
Principal Secretary to the Governor, Dr Muhammad Fakhar-e-Alam was also present while Saleem Khan, Chief Engineer and Syed Akhtar Hussain Shah, Project Manager of the project briefed the Governor about salient features of the project as well as its future requirements in making it fully beneficial for the respective people.
It was told on this occasion that a total of Rs 3500 million will be required for completion of water distribution canals and channels as subsidiary schemes of the project which have to be jointly managed both by the federal and the provincial governments.
